Manager of International Affairs to Aalto University School of Electrical Engineering

The role of the Manager of International Affairs includes responsibilities related to internationalisation, degree programmes, and mobility within study administration. In this position, you are responsible for the agreements of the international teaching cooperation and student exchange at the School of Electrical Engineering. You will play a central role in advancing and monitoring international funding opportunities and projects in alignment with the strategic goals of both the Aalto University and the School of Electrical Engineering. You will also be responsible for promoting international student marketing. A key focus at the start of this role will be participation in an international student marketing project aimed at increasing the recruitment of international students to degree programmes in the fields of electrical and telecommunications engineering.


The Manager of International Affairs promotes, supports and develops the school’s internationalisation efforts in close collaboration with a variety of stakeholders.  You will work as part of the School of Electrical Engineering's Learning Services team, maintaining close cooperation with degree programme directors and planners. Internally, you will collaborate with international services across other schools within the Aalto University. Externally, you will engage with a wide network of domestic and international partners. The role also includes acting as a contact person in various working groups of the school or Aalto University and may involve additional tasks related to study administration. The position carries supervisory responsibilities as well.


Your experience

We are seeking a candidate with a solid understanding of the university environment and experience in international academic cooperation. We value strong intercultural communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse work community and with international partners.


The position requires the willingness and ability to travel and represent both Aalto University and the School of Electrical Engineering in international forums. We also appreciate experience in marketing and familiarity with different communication and marketing channels.


You will work in a multicultural work environment and engaging with international stakeholders, therefore fluent oral and written English skills are essential. As the position also involves internal collaboration and communication in Finland, fluent spoken and written Finnish is equally required.


We are looking for a candidate with a bold and proactive approach to work. Good organizational skills as well as the ability to independently plan, manage, and execute tasks and projects are required. You are comfortable taking initiative and responsibility, even under pressure. Success in this role is further supported by strong networking abilities, adaptability, and a willingness to continuously learn and grow. Proficiency in IT tools and systems is also expected. A master’s degree in a relevant field is required. Previous experience in a supervisory role is considered an asset.

We work in a hybrid model, with the primary workplace located at the Otaniemi Campus in Espoo.


This is a permanent position. Compensation for the position is determined according to the university’s salary system and the salary range for this position is approximately 4600 - 5100 €/month. We hope that you can start your new position on September 1, 2025, but the start date is negotiable.
