Job Summary

The Senior Program Coordinator at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government (M-RCBG) serves as the primary point of contact for the Senior Fellows Program, as well as providing administrative and operational support for other M-RCBG Fellowship programs, coordinating student grant processes, and supporting key research initiatives. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a high level of professionalism in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. 


Position Description

Duties & ResponsibilitiesSenior Fellows Program Coordination

  • Serves as the main point of contact for all aspects of the Senior Fellows Program, ensuring a seamless experience for Fellows throughout their tenure.

  • Oversees the Fellows selection process, including managing applications, coordinating review committees, and communicating with applicants.

  • Organizes Senior Fellows’ study groups, coordinating logistics, scheduling, and communications.

  • Plans and executes in-person research meetings four times per year in Cambridge, ensuring smooth event logistics.

  • Supports Senior Fellows in hiring and onboarding Research Assistants, including coordinating hiring processes and payments.

  • Processes Senior Fellows’ appointments, liaising with relevant administrative offices at Harvard Kennedy School (HKS).

  • Manages the bank of offices used by Senior Fellows, coordinating office assignments and addressing space needs.

  • Provides administrative support for visa processing, as needed, for international Fellows.


Support for other M-RCBG Fellowship Programs

  • Provides similar coordination and logistical support for other Fellowship programs at M-RCBG.

  • Assists in managing appointments, workspace allocations, and study groups for these Fellows.

  • Supports recruitment, hiring, and payment processing for Research Assistants (RAs) supporting Fellows across programs.


Student Grants, Student Groups, & Financial Coordination

  • Serves as M-RCBG’s point of contact for student support such as Winter research funding and Summer Internship Funding. 

  • Partners on making recommendations to Center leadership for allotment $100,000 of annual student funding. 

  • Announces, processes and tracks awards; follows up to collect student work summaries. 

  • Supports Business and Government Student group; works with student groups on requests for support for conferences. 


Other Administrative & Programmatic Responsibilities

  • Works closely with M-RCBG leadership and faculty to ensure seamless execution of program activities.

  • Maintains accurate records, update databases, and track key program metrics.

  • Provides additional administrative support for Center events, programming, and research activities, as needed.

  • Manages shared offices and computer equipment for Center fellows and visitors.


Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and three or more years of professional experience in an academic, research, or program coordination role.


Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • Superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities with attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with senior-level professionals, faculty, and students.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle confidential matters with discretion.

  • Experience with event planning, program management, or academic administration preferred.

  • Familiarity with Harvard’s administrative systems (or ability to learn quickly) is a plus.
