About the Climate Finance Capacity Support Programme

DT Global delivers the Capacity Support Programme for MFAT. The scope of this programme is quite broad as its aim is to be responsive to the needs of Pacific Island countries. It includes providing personnel or training to assist with:

  •  delivering and reporting on the flexible finance provided by MFAT;

  •  developing/updating national climate change plans and reporting frameworks;

  •  developing an investment-ready pipeline of projects;

  •  delivering climate change priorities;

  •  improving climate finance reporting; and

  •  accessing a broader range of climate finance funding.

About the Role

The role is key in addressing climate risks by advancing effective financial and administrative systems, enhancing access to international climate funds, and fostering inclusive participation in climate resilience initiatives. This role supports the integration of climate finance into national frameworks while building partnerships with key stakeholders, including government ministries, civil society, and development partners.


The SCFRO is essential in ensuring the Solomon Islands achieves its climate resilience goals by addressing identified gaps in budgeting systems, promoting innovative financing solutions, and improving climate data management. This position also directly contributes to the Climate Resilience Finance Unit’s mission of supporting the Solomon Islands Government’s (SIG) commitments to global climate agreements.


About You

Essential Experience and Knowledge

  • Postgraduate degree in international development, finance, climate change, or environmental management.

  • Experience in Public Finance Management or policy development.

  • Proficiency in climate finance tracking tools and project management.

  • Strong communication and analytical skills.


Desirable

  • Familiarity with GEDSI principles in programme implementation

  • Previous experience in donor relations or working with multilateral development partners.
