The Coalition for Global Prosperity brings together political, military, business and faith leaders who believe that an effective development budget, alongside an active diplomatic and defence strategy, keeps Britain at the forefront of saving lives, alleviating poverty and bringing freedom, security and prosperity to those who need it most. We hold a variety of high-profile events with senior politicians and thought leaders every month. Previous speakers have included British Prime Ministers David Cameron, Gordon Brown, Theresa May and Boris Johnson as well as thought leaders including Richard Curtis CBE and Sir David Attenborough. The Senior Events Officer will be integral to our success, and will play a central role in our small but dynamic team.
The Senior Events Officer will work in our busy Westminster office to design, shape, and deliver an impactful programme of events. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior team to devise CGP’s long term events strategy; working with colleagues to put the strategy into practice. The Senior Events Officer will lead on all aspects of our events programme from design through to delivery. CGP is entering into a new and exciting phase of its development and this varied and fast paced role is central to us being able to achieve our mission.
Role and Responsibilities
Design, plan, and manage, CGP’s busy and ambitious events programme in collaboration with colleagues.
Lead on the delivery of all CGP events including set piece speeches, online seminars, roundtables, dinners, and CGP’s party conference programmes.
Liaise with senior speakers and be the first point of contact for CGP’s events programme.
Work with the Operations Manager to maintain meticulous records and update CGP’s database (Salesforce) accordingly.
Oversee the drafting and designing of event materials and related correspondence including invitations, briefings, and promotional designs for social media.
Manage RSVP lists (often several at one time), ensuring each CGP event is well-attended and attracting our target audience of speakers, guests, and attendees.
Produce event up-dates and analysis for the CGP senior team and the Board of Trustees as required.
Ad hoc tasks as directed by the CEO and senior team.
Experience and Qualifications
Interest in events, international development and supportive of UK aid.
Knowledge and understanding of UK politics and political structures.
Demonstrable experience of working on events and managing projects.
Previous experience of working in an advocacy or events role.
Excellent organisational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail.
Independent worker, self-starter who can take responsibility for projects through to completion.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong IT skills.
