The Bellona Foundation and Bellona Europa are looking to recruit a Full-Time Policy & Project Manager Central Eastern Europe to support delivery of its regional projects from our office in Brussels.
Role and Responsibilities
Develop and implement Bellona’s strategy for the near-term deployment of key industrial decarbonisation projects in the CEE region
Helping partners in CEE countries develop decarbonise strategies / deployment opportunities for decarbonisation
Tracking, analysing and evaluating relevant climate and industrial policy developments in the CEE region and leading on Bellona responses to relevant policy consultations, seeking to create and build on positive momentum around the adoption of climate solutions.
Managing the day-to-day of Bellona’s projects across the Baltics, Visegrad and Balkan countries and ensuring that these are delivered on time and on budget.
Proactively managing Bellona’s stakeholder relations and building strong relationships with all relevant stakeholders, including Parliamentarians, government officials, and amongst the wider climate change community.
Representing Bellona in meetings and events and ensuring that Bellona’s views are being sought and considered in terms of climate and industrial decarbonisation policy development.
Support the work of Bellona offices in Brussels and Oslo.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Excellent spoken and written English and fluency in a relevant language for the CEE region.
Awareness and understanding of various technologies and processes relating to industrial decarbonisation, particularly Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS).
Understanding of the politics of decarbonisaiton in the CEE region and the European Union
Recent experience of analysing and evaluating climate change and, preferably, industrial decarbonisation policies.
Demonstrable commitment to the values and organisational goals of Bellona and the wider environmental movement.
Ability to and willingness to travel internationally, as required.
Existing network with government and private stakeholders in the region, e.g., unions, NGOs, industry and business groups, in CEE, preferably Slovenia and/or Croatia, and a demonstrable ability to engage with stakeholders and Parliamentarians.
Good knowledge of policy and regulatory frameworks in the relevant countries relating to climate change, industry and energy.
