Job Description

• As Project Manager reporting directly to the Provincial Coordinator, you will ensure the general coordination of the project and provide a global strategic vision, with the project team (12 people) and partners (provincial government, universities and research centers, actors community ...).

• You will ensure the implementation and monitoring of activities relating to the development of agricultural sectors as well as effective coordination between actors and consultation structures with the active involvement of FOs. You will thus participate in the strengthening of sustainable agricultural and socio-economic development according to a territorial / local approach.

• You will be required to manage and monitor, in particular on a technical level, the various public supply and service contracts as well as the various agreements and conventions (drafting of specifications or technical specifications, monitoring of the implementation and receptions). You will also ensure the implementation of operational synergy with Tshopo's second program: the EDUT vocational training program.

Role and Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the proper execution of the project (content, planning, budget, quality);

• You coordinate the realization of activities in order to achieve the objectives of the project;

• You contribute to building the capacities of partner organizations;

• You coordinate the learning process on how an intervention contributes to the development of a sector;

• You lead the team placed under your hierarchical responsibility;

• You ensure that relevant information on results is available for monitoring and evaluation to enable performance monitoring, decision making, learning and reporting;

• You are responsible, according to methods that remain to be defined (methodology, speakers, etc.), for capitalizing on experiences and lessons learned and for disseminating knowledge as a priority to partners;

• You mobilize, at the most appropriate level (local, national or even international) the actors of the research in order to consolidate and validate the socio-economic and technical approaches of the project (able to also feed the process of capitalization).

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

Required Training

• Master in Rural Development or equivalent.

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the management of rural development projects at the international level;

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience on the African continent ;

• Experience as a team leader ;

• Experience in budget management and execution;

• Experience in several projects is an asset.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies;

• In-depth knowledge in the areas of advisory support, sector and cropping systems approaches, technical innovation;

• Skills in territorial and / or local development;

• Capacity for planning, organization and management;

• Monitoring and evaluation skills;

• Dynamic, proactive attitude and aptitude for questioning;

• You speak and write fluently in French or Dutch . Given the working language in the DRC and the international context in which you will be working, an excellent knowledge of French and English is therefore required.
