The Operations team is responsible for the overall management of WIAN’s day-to-day activities and internal processes, people management, HR and recruitment and ensuring that each team runs efficiently behind the scenes.

Demilade Falola-Apooyin


Demiladé is the founder and Chief Executive of international career network and social enterprise, the Women in International Affairs Network. Demiladé is an international trade and development specialist with a background in law, diplomacy and human rights. Her interests lie within the African context, particularly on sustainable trade and economic development, migration and gender issues. She studied her LLM in International Development Law and Human Rights at the University of Warwick, and currently works for the United Kingdom's Department for Trade as a Senior Policy Advisor, leading on Sustainability trade policy.

Amandla Uzoka-Jarrett


Amandla Uzoka-Jarrett is currently the Chief Operating Officer at WIAN. She is responsible for HR and recruitment, business development and ensuring WIAN’s internal operations run smoothly and are in line with the organisation’s strategic objectives. Outside of WIAN she works as an International Project Support Manager at the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) in London where she supports international R&D programmes and helps to develop new strategic global partnerships that foster the advancement and exploitation of UK innovation internationally to achieve economic growth and social development. Amandla has an MSc in Public Policy and Administration from the London School of Economics.

Lambratu Tejan


Lambratu Tejan is a finance and accounting senior executive, with extensive experience in business and financial management. She has 19+ years’ experience directing financial and operating strategies to facilitate commercial growth and development of companies. She is currently Chief Financial Officer at WIAN.  She is also the Principal Consultant at T&E and was most recently the Finance Director for Shard Gallery Viewing Management Company in the UK. She is a Chartered Accountant and holds a MBA, a Post Graduate Diploma and BA in business management, commerce and commercial law from the Victoria University of Wellington in Wellington, New Zealand.

The Partnerships team is responsible for our third-party engagements and external relationships, and build effective and mutually beneficial relationships with our partners and sponsors. They also manage our unique university partnerships, working closely with academic institutions to host events and create resources for interested university students.

Valentina Aslani


Valentina heads the Partnerships team, identifying partnership and sponsorship opportunities, managing external relationships, developing WIAN’s fundraising strategy and leading on strategic prospecting. She is originally from Italy, but currently lives in the UK where she works as a Fundraising Officer at Conciliation Resources, an international peacebuilding organisation. Before moving to the UK, Valentina worked at UNESCO in India and for a human rights NGO in Ukraine. She graduated with a master’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics.

Juliana Balogun


Juliana is currently the Deputy Partnerships Manager at WIAN. Her role involves shaping and executing strategy, identifying partnerships and sponsorship opportunities with organisations and corporate, fundraising, and managing external relationships. Juliana is currently working as a Technology Consultant with experience in delivering digital products, driving technology and business strategy and innovation. She also studied a Masters in African Development at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

The Communications team is responsible for WIAN’s original content and branding, managing our contributor programme and social media following, and the organisation’s wider PR and marketing.

Diana Sey


Diana Sey joined WIAN in October 2018 as the Deputy Director of Communications. Her role is to develop and deliver a communications strategy across various platforms supporting WIAN’s key priorities and strategic plan and ensuring that all content and resources align with WIAN’s business objectives. She is currently a marketing communication professional based in Accra Ghana, with experience in managing regional project teams focused on youth, skills for employability and capacity building programmes in education. Her background is in PR and Communications and when she is not doing that, she has a keen interest in art, visual design and fashion.

Holly Campbell


Holly joined WIAN’s Communications Team in May 2018 as the Social Media Manager. Her job is to manage all of WIAN’s social media platforms and continually develop the organisation’s social media strategy. Outside of WIAN, she recently started the UK NGDP (National Graduate Development Programme) – a fast-track graduate scheme for future leaders of local government. She lives in Sheffield but her job is currently based at Doncaster Metropolitan Council. She is loving her first placement in the Communities Team, working on a central government-funded project seeking to create better cohesion between migrant communities and British citizens in Doncaster.

Segilola Apooyin


Segilola Apooyin joined the WIAN team in November 2017. Her role as Content Editor involves writing, editing and pitching original articles and interviews to be published on the WIAN website. She is also involved in creating original content and graphics to advertise on WIAN’s other social media. She is a recent graduate of Architecture and she is entering her Part 1 internship. She strongly believes in equality, and how this can be achieved through design and employment practices within the construction industry, which lends greatly to her role in WIAN. Her interests outside of her academics include photography, creative writing and graphic design.

Folawale Ariran


Fola is a Lawyer, HR Enthusiast and humanitarian. She is passionate about gender equality and she believes that women all around the world, especially in Africa, should be more involved in international affairs. One of WIAN's representatives in Africa, she joined WIAN in 2018 and is the present Deputy Head of Programmes. She sees to the planning, implementation and management of WIAN’s programmes, including the Mentorship Programme.


The Programmes team, design and deliver our various programmes, mainly the annual mentorship scheme, and are responsible for effective monitoring and evaluation of these programmes to clearly set out our impact.
